I have had a deep passion for martial arts for as long as I can remember. At age 13, I finally convinced my parents to help me investigate the arts. I was lucky in my first attempt by finding Ron Smith and Jukido-kai. It is impossible not to learn something new at each class, even after 7+ years of training. Instead of making up answers to question that just kinda sound good, this school studies, evaluates and concludes with the best answer based on principals and combat practical situations.

I like many things about the class. There are a few things I’d like to highlight for anyone considering Martial Arts.

The class is very informative as you not only learn the different aspects of Martial Arts, but they are also broken down so you can understand what goes behind them. Also, along the way we learn how different techniques can lead to a variety of choices from there. Sensei Smith does a good job of making you feel like part of the class by taking time to work with you face to face. At other schools I had been to, this was not the case. It will also get you more physically involved in the arts. I’ve come home with a bumps and bruises before, but never once have I regreted the training.

I definitely recommend Center For Traditional Martial Arts if you are serious about learning Martial Arts.

As parents of two long term students to the martial arts instructed by Sensei Smith, I can say my husband and I are both honored and amazed at the self control, confidence, and pride that our children have for themselves that they have obtained through the training at the Center for Traditional Martial Arts. What began as an expectation of their class conduct has become a personal expectation of themselves in how they interact in society. They not only have gained respect for the art itself, the elders who have passed it down, and the instructors continuing the traditions but, for their family, and friends and classmates. The Center has become more than just an organization or a club. To our family, it is a part of our lives that has enriched us, empowered us, and encouraged us in so many ways to cope and survive with real day to day situations and circumstances. In beginning training with Sensi Smith, no matter what your age or ability, you will not be disappointed with what you get in return for your efforts.
